How to Register on eBay
Registering on eBay is the same as opening an account, but the term is sometimes used for the wider onboarding flow — including confirming your email, adding an address, and setting communication preferences. Here is the full path.
Start the registration form
On the eBay home page, click Register or Create account. The button is normally in the top-right corner on desktop and inside the menu on mobile.
Fill in your details
Provide your name, email, phone, and a strong password. eBay validates each field in real time — fix any flagged errors before continuing.
Confirm your email
Check the inbox of the address you used. A confirmation message from eBay contains a link or code. Click or paste it within the time limit shown (usually 24 hours).
First settings to change
Add a shipping address, set communication preferences, and add a backup contact method. Configuring these now saves time at first checkout.
